How to get your test results
On average please allow a week for your test results to come back from the hospital unless your doctor has advised otherwise.
The method by which we give you the results should be discussed with you by the doctor or nurse organising the investigation. Options include offering a choice of telephone consultation, a further appointment or visit, or by letter.
Arranging to receive test results
To request your test results, you can use our Test Results Request form or you can call the practice.
Receiving test results by telephone consultation
If the clinician arranges to issue the result by a telephone consultation, we will usually require you to phone in to the surgery to book a telephone consultation appointment with the clinician who has organised the test on a pre-agreed day.
The receptionist will give you a time for the call back and take a contact telephone number. Unfortunately clinicians may not always be running to time and we apologise for any inconvenience caused if the call back is late.
The practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. We will only give out test results to the person to whom they relate, unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this information or they are not capable of understanding the results.
